Marie (1875 - 1938), an English woman and daughter of Prince Alfred, Duke of Edinburgh, was a writer, nurse, and wife of Ferdinand I, King of Romania. She was also a granddaughter of Queen Victoria, who along with her daughters, cared for Romanian soldiers during WWI.
