Munich/Liepzig: Geraschdruck, 1910. Handsome German color lithograph advertisement for tea, printed in bold gold, yellow, and shades of purple, and signed at the lower right corner. Hohlwein (1874 - 1949), a noted German poster artist, was an originator of the 1900s style known as plakatsil. The image depicts a seated Chinese man in traditional cap and silk robe, holding packages of the tea in its striking gold and purple boxes, in his lap.
