Postcard of Paris posted in Munich with a Nazi postmark, with possible 1936 Olympics connection.

Paris: 1936. Postmarked Munchen 28.7.36 with German postal stamp and the stamp "Luftschutz ist nationale pflicht werdet mitglied im reichstattschutzbund", the card message "Have taken sixty pictures ~ Pence" indicates a European tourist who then went on to Germany in late July 1936, possibly to attend the 1936 Berlin Summer Olympics which ran from Aug. 1-16. Addressed to Mr. Gail Ivory, Ann Arbor Michigan (b. Lansing MI 16 Dec 1912-25 Mar 1960 Altadena, CA). The postcard image is of the "Perspective sur le Carrousel" from the series "Paris et ses Merveilles", photograph by Guy, Edit. d'Art. - A. Leconte. It's possible "Pence" was an athlete, but difficult to establish as a fact - a review of athletes at the games did not reveal a "Pence" (according to Wikipedia.) Color chrome style card, corners a bit bent, a little marked. Item #25908
