United Kingdom: Ca. 1935. Stunning poster in dazzling whites and deep blues, of a sailboat race in Sydney Harbour, the Harbour Bridge in the distance and a section of sail slashing across the right hand side of the image, creating the impression that the viewer is on a sailboat taking part in the race. Not found in Trove.
Signed in the image at the lower left, "Wootton". Frank Wootton (1911 - 1998) was a noted British artist specializing in aviation subjects, and famous for his paintings made as the official artist to the RAF and Royal Canadian Air Force in WWII.
17 3/4 x 13 1/2", laid down on heavier paper 21 1/4 x 17", title printed in black below the image. Short cracks at top edge of image intruding roughly 1/4"; other cracks at edge of heavier paper archivally restored on verso. Good + overall. Item #26109
