Large printed color double sided folding newsmap/poster. On one side, 6 large printed b&w photographic portraits of Generals Marshall, Eisenhower, and McNarney, as well as Admirals King, Nimitz, and Spruance, with descriptive text.

On the verso is a two color poster illustrated with a cartoon of a Sherlock Holmes character sleuthing with magnifying glass and bloodhound, with caption, "Where will all the Best Jobs Be?", and a large text block at lower left.

These war newsmaps/posters were issued by the US War Department in WWII to the public and to military personnel as visual guides to campaigns, and usually featured the theater of conflict, and often included text descriptions of war related events.

47 x 35", printed on both sides. Some splits at folds, slight loss at bottom edge; chipped at edges. Michigan State Library stamp on verso. Good + condition. Item #26120
