London: Ca. 1763. A view of New York City engraved when it was under British control. A later image, by Thomas Howdell (just before the start of the American Revolution), is also a view from this perspective, showing New York harbor, Nutting Island, Staten Island, Long Island, Rutgars House, South River, and the Brew-house. The city is visible in a distant view at the right.
7 1/8 x 4 1/2". Closed tear at bottom edge through title, repaired with archival tape on verso, otherwise bright and clean.
