Alexandria, Va: Miniature Print Society, April 1944. Limited edition. A Spanish village scene, by the noted Australian artist Lionel Lindsay, one of 200 signed copies, in a specially printed mount. Lionel Lindsay was an Australian artist and brother to artist Norman Lindsay and artist/critic Daryl Lindsay.
The etching depicts a village fountain in the square of a classic cobble stoned Spanish village, with 2 horses drinking at well side. Three village women, including one cleaning the statue at the center of the fountain, go about their business. Signed in the etching and in pencil below. 3 1/2 x 5" tipped onto 8 /2 x 11" folding mount. A strong impression, very bright and clean.
