ALS Bringing a suit for cleaning beer barrels in the street opposite the Brewery in Hudson, New York.

New York: 1846. A one page letter from R. McClellan addressed to Mr. Jordan regarding 'Geo Robinson' .
"Hudson July 29th 1846
Mr. Jordan,
Sir/Frequent complaints have been made to me that Geo Robinson washes his beer barrels in the street opposite his Brewery, and that noxious fluid runs down the street to the annoyance of his neighbors - producing a very disagreeable smell and at this season (?) making it unhealthy - These complaints have been so frequent, that I have directed a suit agt. him under article 3 (?) 43 of ordinance - and I direct you to appear as the corporation attorney.
James Dick the scrivener will process the testimony for you - Mr. R. has been spoken to frequently, and pays no regard to the matter.
Yours &c R. McClellan
