Handsome steel engraving advertising the New Orleans perfumer and dealer in drugs and patent medicines, at 39 Chartres Street, printed in a variety of different type faces, within an ornate decorative border. A line of text boasts, "Family and Plantation Medicines carefully put up". These often toxic medicines were purchased by planters to be given by their overseers to slaves.
