London: Vanity Fair, May 24th 1884. Print. Caricature of Oscar Wilde, the famous Irish author. This is an original chromolithograph, published in 1884 in Vanity Fair, an English magazine that published satirical caricatures from 1868-1914. Ape was the pen name of Carlo Pellegrini. The descriptive text is neatly glued on the back of the print, trimmed to 7 1/2 x 4", with no show through. Image size approx. 14.5 x 8.25" on larger paper. A couple of minor creases with a small knicks in the margin. Good + overall. Item #26315
