Loosely inserted is Ranji's official engraved bookplate along with a clipped signature dated 1923. With red leather binding gold gilt title and decoration , raised bands all edges marbled. 8vo

Ranjitsinhji otherwise known as Ranji (1872-1933) is widely regarded as one of the greatest batsmen of all time. He played for Cambridge University, Sussex and test cricket England. This book is an overview of the sport recording the positions, proper form and technique, cricket terminology, and the history of the sport. Many of the illustrations utilize the worlds elite cricketers of the day, Spofforth, Grace, Murdoch etc. Ranji was the ruling prince of the Indian state of Nawanagar from 1907-1933 but lived mostly in the U.K
