Richmond, Va: B.F.Johnson & Co, c1894. Hardcover. Salesman's dummy for this magnificent turn of the century photo view book of America. Contains about 100 unnumbered examples of pages with some 20 pages for subscriber names and order details, all of which are blank, indicating that the salesman was not very successful. Interspersed throughout the example pages of text and illustrations are tipped in pages of text explaining things like "Superiority of Photographs over engravings". Oblong 4to, numerous pages have short tears that have been covered with thin sticky tape. Front cover and spine are of black morocco, back cover half morocco and blue cloth. Inside the back cover is the example of the pale blue cloth cover & spine while on the inside front cover are examples of the black and brown leather spine choices. The spine of this volume is cracked at top and bottom but overall the copy is in sound and desirable condition. Good + overall. Item #26596
