Sydney: Bloxham & Chambers, 1928. Pamphlet. Travel guide, the covers illustrated by Australian poster artist Percy Trompf, the images "Twelve Thousand Miles of Golden Beaches"; "Settler, Investor, Tourist!" and "The Continent of Opportunity!". This brochure was compiled and issued jointly by the Australian Railways Commissioners, ten years after the completion of the Trans-Australian Railway, which linked Western Australia with the rest of the continent. The line started in Kalgoorlie, ran to Port Augusta, a distance of 1,051 miles, and then joined the railways of South Australia & the eastern states. With color illustrated wrappers signed "Trompf". 8vo, 35pp, b&w illustrations throughout. Back wrapper a bit marked. Very good overall. Item #26604
