ca. 1925. A very uncommon and handsome portrait of a middle-aged Chaplin curled up in a leather arm chair with one elbow on the chair arm and one on his chin. Signed "Yours Truly Charlie Chaplin."
We have been unable to locate any copies of this image for sale. A Google search for it turns up one copy, illustrating a 1915 interview with Harry C. Carr, Photoplay Magazine July 1915, which is posted on clickamericana.com. It is captioned "Charles Spencer Chaplin", and is perhaps a book illustration.
Silver gelatin photograph, signed in ink on the lower right. Vintage signed photograph 7 x 9 21/4", with a few light creases that do not affect the signature. The image is bright, with a glowing quality. Very good overall. Item #26799
