Dana & Co. was formed about 1840, succeeding Tarbell & Dana, who originally started business about 1825. "Thos. Dana had the distinction of having been the first to import Formosa teas into Boston direct from Formosa and one of the first to introduce Ceylon and India Teas into the New England states." They claim to have a "large corps of high-class salesmen, who cover nearly every city and town in New England and New York state and are gradually expanding through the Middle West."
