9 July 1828. Pamphlet. A four page commercial trade report from Maury Latham & Co. in Liverpool, addressed to Enoch Silsby Esq. in Boston, with a personal hand written addendum, remnants of wax seal and stamp mark. Cotton and tobacco are primary topics, but all types of trade items are listed: ashes, bee's wax, cochineal, brandy, molasses, coffee etc.

Enoch Silsby (1778-1841) was a merchant ship owner and agent from Boston and Bradford Massachusetts. Silsby managed several large vessels and was involved primarily in the transatlantic trade from Boston and New York. (Mystic Seaport Museum)

Dated 9 July, the ALS portion of the letter focusses on 'the import of cotton so far this week are moderate - today there has been a brisk demand of 5000 bales sold, prices are 1/8 higher for qualities 6 1/4 to 6 1/2... [...] good quality for export to North of Europe, otherwise demand is chiefly middle to fair kinds.'

Report is 3 printed pages dated 5 July 1828, last page is envelope details and ALS letter. 8 x 10", wax seal and stamp in red, original folds. Very good condition. Item #27097
