Sydney: 1908. Oblong album. Album of large format photographs of the Great White Fleet's stay in Sydney from "the Waiting for Admiral Sperry" to the fleets departure through the" Heads". A wonderful record of this momentous moment in American & Australian history, when the U.S. declared itself on the international stage.
Photographs 11 x 14". Each image has the title in pencil on the verso as well as the stamp from Tyrrell's, a long-standing Sydney bookseller. The collection has been tipped onto a gray stock paper and housed in a later binder. A pen title is written below following the pencil inscription written on the verso. There is some chipping at the edge of the photos but overall the images are bright and clear.
