c. 1950s. Three painted mock up designs for album covers by Curt John Witt. Two of Witt's designs were used, for Tschaikovsky's Nutcraker Suite (sic) and for "Songs of the West".

The Nutcracker was record number P[ontiac] 10-13 "2094" and the text is altered from that shown here, (Austrian Symphony Orchestra, Kurt Woss conductor). The "Songs of the West" album was by yodeling Slim Clarke and released in 1952, listed as "P-528 Pontiac".

The third reads was for a children's album called "Junior Fairy Tales". Witt's mock up has Cinderella holding a bucket, on a red background with white stars. The final design showed the Prince trying shoes on Cinderella's foot. Some of this mock up includes papered images glued onto the board. The notation on the verso is for Remington Records, 'R-1018'.

Each stiff board is 9 x 10" or 10 x 10". Fairy tales has glue marks showing brown through label, otherwise very clean by a talented artist. Item #27748
