Letter from Mayor of New York City, asking for support for the Mayor's Official Committee for the Unemployed and Needy.

1931. SIGNED typescript letter from James "Jimmy" Walker, who served NYC Mayor from 1925 - 1932. Letter is written to Algernon Dangerfield of the Jockey Club. Walker mentions the funds raised by other sporting events to support the needy. Walker also known as "Beau Jim" was part of the Tammany Hall political machine.
