About 1872 (or earlier) newspaper clippings of stories, psalms, images and manuscript school lessons (language conjugation, history, presidents, religion, geography) were pasted over 2/3 of the ledger pages. Signed at the front board are the names of the probable students: Jesse; Emma Coolidge Orfordville, NH; Carrie Whiteman, Orfordville, NH; E. Whiteman.

Orford was settled in 1765 primarily as an agricultural area. These ledger entries show the purchases of the early families in the area.

13 x 8", brown leather, approx.180pp. Leather cracked and rubbed at edges, pages ruffled at foredge, clippings glued to pages, some flapping. Very readable. Item #28130
