New York: Brown Robertson Co. This is one of Thorpe's larger format woodcut prints and has a very attractive & unusual colour palette. Signed in pencil on the plate. Thorpe moved from Sydney to London just before the First Word War and set up a studio on Redcliffe Sq. Here he created most of his woodcuts between 1920 and 1927. Oval blind stamp lower left corner "Brown Robertson Co Print Publishers New York". In excellent condition. 10 1/4 x 16" plus margins. Item #7196
