Arthur Phillip's "The Voyage of Governor Phillip to Botany-Bay". The details include the price and the complete list of engravings, which in the 2nd edition are 55 plates, and the 3rd edition with 20 plates. Also a note "N.B. A few of the first Edition, with fine Impressions, and the Natural History, beautifully coloured, may be had of Mr. Stockdale, price 2 l. 12 s 6d. in boards." Phillip was the 1st governor of the penal colony at Botany Bay in New South Wales, Australia. We would all love to take advantage of Mr. Stockdale's offer of colored copies of Philip at 2 l. 12 s. 6d! Orig. full diced calf, spine decorated with 6 compartments decorated with black and gilt, slightly rubbed at edges and marked by a handsome original copy, very crisp internally.
