This copy was owned by three important members of the American Theater. Burton (18804-1860) was born in England, and acted in English theater until he emigrated to Philadelphia in 1834. In 1837, he founded the Gentleman's Magazine, and hired Edgar Allen Poe as co-editor. He sold his share in 1841, and began managing theaters.
