His account of the Bounty was the first published in America & was the source for Melville's "Benito Cerino". 8vo, 598pp, errata leaf at end, 3 b&w plates including a portrait of Delano, the King of the Pelew Islands and a folding chart of Pitcairn Island. Original brown spotted sheep nicely restored, original red & gilt leather label, inner hinge strengthened, reasonably foxed (as usual). Not in Spence but should be - the voyage rounds Cape Horn and visits the Falkland Islands & St. Pauls. Ferguson 673; "An account by an American of his three voyages to various parts of the Pacific between 1790 and 1807.
