1790. A triple-bill playbill dated July 19, 1790. Featuring 'The Tragedy of Jane Shore.... to which will be added, (By Particular Desire) a Grand, Serious, Pantomimic Ballat, in Three Parts, call'd The Death of Captain Cook. With the Original FRENCH music'... To conclude with a Representation of a Burning Mountain'. This is a rare Theatre Royal playbill with the Death of Captain Cook, performed for the first time in London in 1789, but here, in 1790, with further text describing the three parts: "Part I. A Nuptial Procession... Part II. The Arrival of the Resolution.... The Assassination of Captain COOK. Part III. A Representation of the Naval and Military Honours observed on erecting a Pile to the Memory of Captain Cook, by the Officers of the Resolution.... The playbill is mounted on a scrapbook page, with a landscape engraving mounted on the verso. Very good. Item #14387
