Personal copy of Elihu Carpenter (1752-1827), teacher, deacon and Revolutionary War veteran, a descendant of one of the founding Carpenter family, which sailed from England on the 'Bevis' in 1638. A further annotation at the front end paper, "C. C. Carpenter, Found in Labrador, 1864".
