Dunk (b1855), celebrated Philadelphia painter and illustrator is the illustrator of this handsome work, with 6 full-page color illustrations and b&w illustrations in the text including one of a kangaroo with her joeys being menaced by a man on horseback with a raised whip, for which the original artwork is present, a large dramatic pen and ink sketch. In the distance across the wheat field two other riders and a dog race toward the kangaroo. 17 3/4 x 14" .

4to pamphlet with color cover illustration polar bear hunting in the Arctic, unpaginated (14pp) with b&w illustrations. Covers slt. worn, with a bit of rubbing and faint creasing, but acceptably so. Color illustrations: 'A Buffalo Hunt in the Wild West', 'Indians Hunting Wild Horses in Texas', 'Arctic Voyagers Hunting Polar Bears' (although it looks like the opposite!), 'Red Deer in Flight Before the Hunters', 'A Lion Hunt in Algeria' and 'A Tiger Hunt in India'. B&w illustrations include: 'A Charge of a Cape Buffalo', 'Hunting the Kangaroo', 'Duck Hunting on the Chesapeake', 'A Bear Hunt', 'Hunting Wolves', 'Indian Moose Hunt', 'Hunting Hippopotamus', 'Rhinoceros Hunt', 'Pheasant Shooting', 'Fox Hunting', 'Jaguar Hunting', and 'Pig Sticking in India'.
