Frontispiece entitled "High Priest of Tahiti Ceding the District of Matavai to Captain Wilson for the Missionaries". In text illustrations include depictions of religious statues, a native still, a battle scene and a beach scene. Second volume with some illustrations in text, including full page illustration of the bread fruit plant.
