A bank note engraved invitation with a view of Sydney Harbor inviting American Admiral Remey and Staff to attend a month of celebrations at the Prince Alfred Yacht Club in Sydney for Australian federation. Color printed club pennant top left and fine bank note engraved view of Sydney Harbor. Signed by S. Hordern, Commodore and J. H. Harris, secretary. Admiral George Collier Remey (1841-1928) saw action in the American Civil War and many other conflicts and had a W.W.II destroyer named after him. In April 1900, he assumed command of the Asiatic station and was invited to Australia for the opening of its first Parliament. 20 x 12.5 cm. Stiff card, very good condition. Item #14488
