Coaching in Australia.
Adelaide: Frearson's, 1886. A composite view of 9 coaching scenes, from the rare "Pictorial Australian", which was published for only 10 years from 1885. The views include 'A Bush Stage'; 'A Nasty Pinch'; a 'Bush Change'; a 'Good Bit of Road'; 'Near Town'; 'Off the Track'; 'Bail Up'; 'Colts in the Team' & 'Too Much Water'. The National Library of Australia holds 15 of Esam's watercolors; 2 of those images are included in this print. In the 23 August 1886 issue of the "West Australian", this picture was reviewed and was deemed "very good". According to Trove, 2 libraries hold volume 12 of the newspaper (SLSA & SLV) but but its not known if they include the supplement. The SLNSW has a run but not volume 12. Published in the Supplement, August 1886 as a double page view. 20 x 15". Chromolithograph. Original fold, chips at edges o/w bright and clean. Item #14702
