Davis; “Historical Sketch of the Islands in the East River and New York Harbor”; “Origin and Changes in the Names of Streets”; “Notable Women of Olden Times”; “Value of Property in this City in Early Times”; "the New York Society Library"; "The Rules and Regulations of the Mutual Assistance Bag Company of the City of New York" (an early fire department), etc, running to 172 pp. With 2 woodcut illustrations in text, but without plates from Valentine's "Manuals" that are refered to in the few copies that have been offered since 1942. 16mo, 172pp, marbled end papers. Full red morocco with gilt borders, with gilt title ("New York") at spine. Spine tips rubbed, front hinge strengthened. Very good overall. Item #15651
