Advertising dated March 5th, 1851, from Lovell, Pomeroy & Co, New York City tea dealers, announcing they "beg leave to call the attention of all Merchants visiting the City, and especially large dealers, to their New Establishment, (and) inviting an examination of their Teas and prices". 2 sheets, 8 1/2 x 11", one illustrated at the top and printed in 2 columns; the other printed in a handwritten style. The announcement encloses a printed page titled "Growth and Curing of Teas". The printed page is illustrated with a scene of tea culture; two columns of text include information on the tea plant, mode of curing, names of teas, black tea, and green tea. With handwritten text at the verso: Tea & Coffee, Thomas LeGrand. Addressed to Mr. Charles Dautremont, Angelica, Allegany Co. NY, and with a 3 cent circular postage paid stamp. Very good.
