View from near Coxsackie Lt. Ho. (looking down).

Washington DC: 1868. A charming view of the light house of the Hudson River village with a Native American name (Owl's Hoot), with the appealingly neat little structure at the right side of the image. The light house was established in 1830 and was deactivated in 1940. It was a square brick tower with granite trimmings (visible in the engraving) and a dwelling, perched on a curving stone pier. Steel engraving. Two original vertical folds, very good. Image size: 11 1/4 (w) x 2 1/4". Paper size: 17 1/2 x 11 1/2" Item #16362
