Weddell was the senior commander of this, his second venture to the South and his luck with good weather lead to his sailing to the record breaking latitude of 74°15', in what is now known as the Weddell Sea. Other places visited include Cape Verde, South Orkney, South Shetland and South Georgia Islands, the Falklands,Tierra del Fuego, Patagonia and Montevideo.

Original errata slip laid in. 19th century half brown leather and marbled boards, original leather spine with gold gilt decoration and label laid down.
