Sydney: Ca. 1885. View from the Hill, looking towards the harbour and Nobbys Head, with the masts of clipper ships at dock visible in the distance. Private homes and fences in the foreground. Henry King (1855?-1923) was a successful New South Wales photographer with studios in George Street, known for his Aboriginal portraits, popular scenic views, and Sydney street scenes. On photographic paper, loose with small fold on top corner. Title with inventory #485 in the image lower edge. On 8 x 6" sheet, bright and clean. An unusual NSW country town view. Trove cites a glass plate negative of this view at Libraries Australia ID 42694098. Very good condition. Item #18855
