A View in Annamooka, One of the Friendly Isle's. John Webber.

A View in Annamooka, One of the Friendly Isle's.

London: J. Webber, 1788. An UNPUBLISHED view by Webber. This is a monochrome aquatint, a different process used in others of Webber's views. This was not published in either the extremely rare lifetime edition of "Views in the South Seas" nor the more common but still rare 1809 (1820) edition of "Views in the South Seas".

"A View in Annamooka, One of the Friendly Isle's" is not directly recorded in Joppien & Smith, but this view with the date of Feby. 1, 1788 is obliquely referred to in the reference notes to Joppien & Smith 3.44b as a lone copy with this publication date in the British Museum, Dept. of Prints and Drawings. It could possibly be recorded as Joppien & Smith 3.44c.
