The Broadway Tabernacle in Anniversary Week.

New York: Snyder, Black & Sturn, ca 1856. A lithograph by Snyder, Black and Sturn of the Broadway Tabernacle Church. Erected in 1836 and demolished in 1856, the Broadway Tabernacle was considered one of the most influential churches of its time and was founded as a center of anti-slavery sentiment in New York City. The image is of the round pulpit with columns supporting the raised dome above it. The image 6 3/4 x 7 5/8" rests in a printed tan house shaped 'frame' 9 1/2 x 8 3/4" on paper 15 x 12". Very clean.
