Belgium: Louis Van Houtte, 1874. Original double paged color lithograph published in van Houtte's and Charles Lemaire's "Flore des Serres et des Jardins de l'Europe" in Brussels. The journal was comprised of 23 volumes published between 1845-1883. van Houtte [1810-1876] made a name for himself as a horticulturist and his 'Establishment Louis van Houtte' was the largest nursery of its time on the continent; by the 1870's it covered 14 hectares and included 50 greenhouses. Double page 9.75 x 12.75", bold yellow flowers with one speckled petal, specimen of Japan. Clean and crisp. Very good condition. Item #21743
