Belgium: Louis Van Houtte, 1865. Original double page color lithograph published in van Houtte's and Charles Lemaire's "Flore des Serres et des Jardins de l'Europe. " in Brussels. The journal was comprised of 23 volumes published between 1845-1883. van Houtte [1810-1876] made a name for himself as a horticulturist and his 'Establishment Louis van Houtte' was the largest nursery of its time on the continent; by the 1870's it covered 14 hectares and included 50 greenhouses. Text, and one double page. 9.75 x 12.75", lovely white and red striped flowers, specimen of India, very clean and crisp. Very good condition. Item #21756
