Item #22025 The Story of Corn and Corn Flakes, 1927 rolling poster. Kellogg Company.

The Story of Corn and Corn Flakes, 1927 rolling poster.

Battle Creek, MI: Kellogg's, 1927. A scarce Kellogg's linen poster mounted on rollers, intended as educational material for children. The left side has 4 scenes of Native American's planting and reaping corn and making bread. The first vignette is captioned by a ridiculous phrase "Squaw Planting Corn- Indian squaws planted the corn which the first white settlers found growing in America." Native corn had been planted by Native Americans long before white men arrived here. The "Factory" at the bottom does a much more effective job it is implied; the right side depicts white corn, grits, flaked corn and corn flakes. 27 x 35", with original black metal binders at top and bottom edges. Printed by Grinnelll Lithography, NY. Very good condition. Item #22025
