New York: Gould, Printer, 18 Dey St, Ca. 1830. A charming printed trade card for a New York City dry goods merchant at No. 109 Chatham Street, "corner of Rosevelt (sic) Street". Hand printed in a variety of type fonts, within a decorative border of diamonds and blocks.
In the 1830 Minutes of the Common Council of the City of New York there is a Jacob S. Baker recorded as an Assessor for the repaving of Stone Street: "For re-paving Stone street from Broad street to White Hall street and John Lozier, Abraham Baudoine & Jacob S Baker were appointed Assessors." Chatham Street was renamed Park Row in 1886, because it faced City Hall Park, the former New York Common.
