Ca. 1970. A charming series of 9 vivid color illustrations on cards depicting four animal friends, and pairs the kangaroo and caterpillar as best friends. The other friends are an elephant and giraffe. The caterpillar is possibly a silk worm, as there are illustrations in which the caterpillar seems to be instructing his animal friends on the process of making silk, and one image includes a cocoon. The silk worm is very much at the center of the action in this story, instructing the elephant who is trying on a pair of gloves. In another scene the silk worm shows a jar of tadpoles to the kangaroo, and in another, rides through the garden on the back of a large green frog. The kangaroo appears in 7 of the scenes. Other animals illustrated include a frog, squirrels, and a large moose.
Gouache illustrations laid down on card stock, the illustrations 5 1/2 x 3 3/4".
