Ca. 1890. A fine pen & ink drawing of this iconic Australian bird (Malurus cyaneus), depicting two birds perched in vegetation (tall flowering grasses), by an unidentified artist. Drawn by a highly accomplished hand, both the birds and grasses drawn in extremely fine detail and including a very small bee drawn hovering just in front of the lower bird.

8 1/2 x 11". The paper foxed at edges, folded at the right edge, with some tears not affecting the image. Good + condition. Item #24954
