London: Fisher, Son & Co, 1845. Second edition. Hardcover. Allom (1804 - 1872) was an English architect, artist, and topographical illustrator, noted for his illustrations in travel books. Allom traveled extensively in Europe studying architecture, and in 1834 visited Constantinople, Turkey. These lithographs were made from Allom's studies, eleven of Italian subjects, and nine of Turkish. Folio, (16 3/4 x 12 3/4"),
19 lithographed plates of the 20 issued. Lacking the plate "vintage of the abruzzi" although to letterpress text is present.
