Chinese Silk industry pith paintings, set of seven.
China: c. 1850. Art. 7 paintings depicting the silk industry in southern China, specifically lovely women with elaborate robes and hair decorations working with silk, or looms. These beautifully colorful images were produced as keepsakes for foreign traders.
8vo (4.35" x 7"), some chips and cracks but now stored safely in archival 3mm mylar sleeves and retaining the bottom half of the original box with hand written Chinese characters. Otherwise very good condition. Item #27191
