New York: John F. Murphy, 1900. Pamphlet. “Containing maps of Mount Hope Bay, Narragansett Bay, Long Island Sound, East and Hudson River... Showing the course of steamers, light houses, islands and points of interest, together with history and other information.” The first 60 pages recount the history of Rhode Island, from its settling in 1637 by "Baptists, Antinomians and Quakers". This was also the site of a respected and prosperous Jewish community- the Touro Synagogue was opened December 2, 1763. The last 40 pages turn to islands surrounding Manhattan, with little on the Hudson River.

12mo, 104pp, 24 photographic illustrations in the text and 3 fold out color maps printed on light paper. Bound in publishers decorated stiff paper wrappers in red and black. Small chip on top of cover and a crease in the lower corner, some early ruffled corners. OCLC: 68181580 cites 5 copies. Very good condition. Item #27396
