The Cincinnatian of 1932, Volume XXXIX.

Ohio: University of Cincinnati, 1932. Hardcover. The 1932 yearbook for the University of Cincinnati, Ohio, an elaborate Art Deco production with silver foil pages in front, silver motifs throughout and colorful orange/black/silver end papers.

The men and women of the Class of 1932 are highlighted through their activities and majors (Law, Medical, Business, Household administration, Military, Engineering, Nursing, Liberal Arts), activity groups, events, sports, theater, fraternities and sororities. One could surmise that many of these graduates would have been drafted into W.W.II.

Women are represented on most Student Council rosters. The University also included an article with future buildings and progress of the campus. The class had approximately 520+ graduates, and there were at least 7 African American women and one Japanese man graduating as part of the class. Also, the football team had one African American man member, Chester Smith. One group called the University Singers/Players had all African American membership.

Interesting activities include a beauty pageant for women, and the Choritides, a natural dancing club for students interested in working out individual interpretations of music.

Stunning Art Deco illustrations throughout, with silver accents on every page. Each section title page features an engraving of a campus building. Lg 4to, 452pp, silver and black embossed covers, b&w photography. Spine and board edges rubbed, covers dusty. Otherwise beautifully preserved. Fine. Item #27416
