London: Joseph Hogarth, 1845. First printing. Print. Edward Steane [1798 - 1882], was a Baptist minister and abolitionist who attended the 1840 World Anti Slavery Convention. The exclusion of women from the convention gave great impetus to the women's suffrage movement in the United States.

13.5 x 18", damp stain visible at the lower edge and there is a marginal tear in the right side border. NPG D41886. Otherwise very good condition. Item #27562
