New York: c. 1957. Ephemera. Christmas card from the Martha Berrien Studio, with an illustration by Carol Blanchard of a reclining woman dressed in a long red gown with a holly crown, before her a feast and a turquoise shoe and flowers.
The Berrien sisters were pochoir specialists, working in their Greenwich Village studio. Martha Berrien worked with the Limited Editions Club, coloring the LEC's Twenty Leagues beneath the Sea (1956) and Moll Flanders (1954).
The card 6 x 14", with the line stamped text beneath the illustration "Hand Colored Martha Berrien N.Y." One period fold. Very good condition. Item #27683
