c. 1850. An unsigned valentine card sent to Mr. George Rome at 334 Schermerhorn St., Brooklyn, NY. Cream and yellow card with lacy overlay of winged cherubs. The sentiment at center, "What folly to single live. We're not for that designed" beneath a colorful image of 2 clasped hands and a third hand uplifted as if by a pastor/reverend. Envelope is embossed, with name and address at center and a Brooklyn, NY stamp/franking on Feb. 15. Envelope 5 1/ x 3 5/8", dusty, card 4 3/4 x 3 1/2" vgc. Good + overall. Item #29154
